School to Work Transition Rapid Assessment, Cairo and Alexandria

The Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD), in collaboration with UN Women Egypt, commissioned Common Ground Solutions to assess school to work transition units in technical schools in Cairo and Alexandria and propose a gender responsive transition model that supports young women entering non traditional technical fields. The qualitative rapid assessment drew on 43 in depth and key informant interviews and eight focus group discussions across six technical schools and an Alexandria job fair, alongside CAPMAS and Labour Force Survey data.
