The goal of this assignment was to determine how cash-based assistance for education influences access to and retention in formal and non-formal learning programs, as well as learning outcomes for migrant and refugee children, by producing an evidence report on CVA's impact on boys' and girls' achievement and offering context-specific recommendations for sustainable integration of CVA into education initiatives in Egypt.
The study explored the extent of CVA's contribution to improved learning, access, and retention across public schools, community learning centers, and catch-up clubs; evaluated the degree to which CVA meets beneficiaries' educational needs; and examined the effects of different delivery modalities on project effectiveness.
Findings inform the design of future CVA-for-education interventions, guide operational and strategic decision-making, and contribute to the global evidence base on cash for education.
